Vol.3 -Ep.1 | Stitching threads that weave a path to the future

"Stitching threads that weave a path to the future"

A First Step with Biospan Threadー

"We want to create clothing that feels good to wear — and is kind to the planet."
To bring this vision to life, the sewing factory that supports ENSULO's craftsmanship took on a new challenge for the first time:
introducing biodegradable “Biospan” thread.

Unlike conventional threads, Biospan has a unique thickness and structure, making it more difficult to handle with standard sewing machines. It required skill, patience, and technical adjustments.

“At first, we couldn’t get the thread tension right. We consulted our machine supplier and kept making fine tweaks. With cut-and-sew fabrics, you only get one shot—if the seam isn’t perfect, the needle holes show. So, we had to be extra careful.”

Through repeated trials, the team studied the compatibility between thread and fabric, and shared precise sewing instructions with the craftspeople.
With meticulous testing and thoughtful communication, every stitch gradually came together—stable, strong, and full of purpose.

“Everyone was nervous in the beginning.
But over time, we learned how to work with Biospan smoothly.
Now, we feel confident using it across more of our products.”

That sense of growth born from challenge—
and the quiet confidence that followed—
may be one of the most meaningful outcomes of this sustainable journey.
